Heavy slogans, shower of petals, and chanting of vedic hymns marked the massive rally by Telugu NRIs at Dallas, US, to celebrate the birthday of actor Nandamuri Balakrishna on June 10. With the actor taking the lead seat in the convoy of about 200 vehicles, the crowds swayed in mirth, wearing headbands – sporting the label Nandamuri Youth – took the rally from Thomas Jefferson Park (Gandhi Park) to the celebration venue. The organizers claimed the rally was first of its kind in the US, arranged to hail an actor. The coordinators included Sambha Dodda, Prabhas Kasaraneni, Venkat, Sudhir Chintamaneni, Ravi Thoopati, Mohan Kanagala, Srinivas Duggirala, Achan Chowdary, Srinivas Manne, Naveen, Lakshman Kondapaneni, Krishna Oruganti and others.

A big group of Telugu NRIs arranged "Purnakhumb" welcome to Balakrishna at the venue. It was a rain of flowers on him as and when he stepped into the celebration hall. Hundreds of women fondly greeted him. Vijay Mohan Kakarla arranged showing of video clippings from the blockbusters of the actor. The fans turned hysterical at the dialogues of NBK from the movies Narasimha Naidu, Samarasimha Reddy, Mangammagari Manavadu etc., shouting slogans of "Natasimham Balayya Zindabad."

After screening the clippings, some of the fans led by Srnivas Mandava had put on a 5-ft Gajamala on Balayya, who later cut a giant 30-pound birthday cake arranged by Suryadevara Ramanaidu.

Addressing the gathering, Balakrishna said: 'I feel immensely happy to be celebrating my birthday with all fans here. I will continue to act in films till the last drop of blood in my life. I shall follow the footsteps of our leader NT Rama Rao and his traits would be reflected through acting in movies for social good. The support of fans is alike to the power of a thousand elephants. My cooperation will always be with you in all your good endeavors." Later, he patiently posed for the photographs for the fans. Balakrishna's friendly attitude at the event, warmly interacting with one and all remained a major highlight. He extended special affection towards kids. After a four-hour party, the actor left the venue, to an emotional farewell.
